Tippmann A-5 Paintball Marker Gun
This is one of the top-rated paintball guns in the list of the Best Paintball Guns Under 300.
Tippmann A5 has been one of the most popular paintball guns in the history of time. Tippmann is best known for being super reliable, they’re durable, pretty easy to fix parts and the A5 fits all those things right. It is just an awesome paintball gun.
One of the big advantages of the Tippmann A5 over like the Tippmann 98 is that cyclone hopper. So, the Tippmann A5 comes standard with the cyclone hopper and this cyclone hopper is attached physically to the side of the gun and every time you shoot those impellers will spin around forcing a paintball in there.
It then guarantees that you won’t have any kind of skipped shots or jams. You won’t break paint as much and what’s nice about that cyclone – is it works off the air so you don’t have to worry about batteries or maintenance much.
Maintainance of Tippmann A5 is super easy.
The Tippmann A5, unlike a lot of the other tests the push pins, so you can easily push pins out the side of the gun to remove the frame or remove internals really quickly.
So, if you have to clean, disassemble or change an o-ring it just makes your work easier. Just push those pins out rather than using a wrench to unscrew which is irritating and time-consuming.
And I like that one of the overlooked things about the Tippmann A5 but a lot of people don’t think about is that you can remove the valve and replace o-rings inside the valve.
In other Tippmann Paintball Guns like the Tippmann 98, Tippmann Cronus or the US army guns, valve inside can be removed but you can’t actually get inside the valve to change the o-rings, so being able to remove the valve and then change the o-rings on the inside of the gun makes it a lot cheaper in the long run.
This is because you can just pay like two dollars per o- ring rather than like $30 for a complete valve like you would have to with the Tippmann 98, Cronus or those US Army guns.
Tippmann TMC MAGFED Paintball Marker
Next on the list is the Tippmann TMC so just like the Tippmann A5 the Tippmann TMC is going to be super reliable, durable, built well.
They’re just all-around great guns so like the Tippmann A5 it is super easy to fix, parts are everywhere available but it is going to have that non-rebuildable valve.
What makes the TMC unique among other paintball guns is its Mag Fed, right? So instead of having to have a hopper on top of the gun, you can just use those 20-round magazines that TMC comes with.
But if you ever want to you can also put a hopper on. That’s kind of one of the neat things right? You can choose to use magazines or you can put that hopper elbow on there and just use a normal hopper so it’s versatile.
It could be magazine fed or hopper fed but you can only use one of those at a time. You can’t have magazines and hoppers all working in unison.
The TMC is going to come with that quad rail so you can put like flashlights or lasers. You can attach all kinds of crazy stuff to the front of the barrel.
One of the best thing about Tippmann TMC is it comes with collapsible stock so you can kind of adjust the stock to a position that you like. You could have it be a little longer or shorter or somewhere in between it.
Also, it doesn’t have an external hose so that “No Hose” staying on. Oh, it just makes it a little bit cleaner and just looks better.
I like the no hose but what I really like about the TMC is that the grip frame is just really comfortable. They come with rubberized grips and it just fits your hand really well so it feels really good when you’re holding it.
Azodin KP3.5 KAOS Pump Paintball Marker
Next on the list is Azodin KP3.5 KAOS Pump Paintball Marker
Let’s clarify something first.
The KP 3.5 really is the same gun as the KP 3. The 3.5 is just a newer version. KP3.5 comes with two barrel backs instead of one. Those two backs just allow you to match your paintballs better to your barrel to improve accuracy.
The KP3 is a pump gun so every time you want to shoot with the KP3 you have to physically pump it, so think of like a shotgun. That’s how you kind of have to chamber that round every time you take the shot.
The KP3 or pump guns are the same way so you have to physically recaulk that ball falls down. You push the pump forward – BAM and you can shoot.
The KP3s are great. I mean they’re super reliable, they’re really easy to fix, that pump strokes are super smooth.
They come with a really good 2-piece barrel or if you get 3.5 version you’re going to get two barrel backs. They come with the on/off ASA so you can quickly turn your tank off. It just makes now taking your tank off way easier.
It also comes with a Lever feed neck with that thumb wheel on the side. That lever feed neck just helps to keep your hopper in place a little bit better. It makes it taking it off really easy and that thumb wheels are really good for micro adjustments.
One of the things that people really like about the KP3 is just how smooth the pump stroke is. On the KP3 you’ll see stainless steel rods everywhere so that stainless steel makes it smoother all around and they also use those dual pump arms that are going to reduce rotation of the pump handle than the previous version of the KP3.
KP2 just had one rod so every once in a while you could twist the thing and it just didn’t pump as smooth so those dual rods are for sure nice.
The KP3s are awesome, they’re a great gun for somebody that’s not playing pump that often. Maybe you’re not a hundred percent sure if you’re all-in on the pump then you can get the KP3 at a budget price and then play pump every once in a while, give it a try and if you don’t like it just sell it.
Dye Precision Proto Rize Marker Paintball Gun
Next on the list is the Proto Rize.
So the Proto Rize is going to be the least expensive good tournament level paintball gun. Yeah, these are big tournament guns. It a little bit cheaper but they’re super nice and very famous guns.
So I really like the Proto Rize. The Proto Rize is going to be more typical of classic tournament paintball gun style where you have a normal hopper on the top.
And it’s just kind of a regular paintball gun. What really makes the Proto Rise great though is that boIt system. They operate at about a 180 psi so they’re very low pressure which means it’s going to kick very little.
They’re really quiet, they can shoot higher end fragile tournament paint and they’re electronic so it’s going to have all the firing modes that you need.
So it will have like full auto as well as semi-auto and all the ramping modes. The lightweight trigger can allow you to shoot super fast. It doesn’t have that lever feed neck like in KP3 though but it does have an adjustable feed neck you just have to use an Allen wrench to adjust it to the right side to your hopper so that it keeps that hopper on there.
It doesn’t have an on/off ASI and taking the tank off can be a little bit more difficult. You just want to make sure that you’re shooting and unscrewing the tank at the same time.
Stock Rails are pretty good. I mean I have all the guns in this like 200$ – 300$ price category. I would say that the Proto Rize has the best stock barrel. There’s definitely better barrels but there’s no reason to go right out and buy a barrel. I’d stick with the stock barrel for quite a while.
So while the Proto Rize shoots great, sounds good, fairly reliable, maintenance is pretty easy there are a couple spots that you could upgrade maybe look at the different levers, on-off ASA’s in the future if you ever want to upgrade and kind of make it a little bit more user-friendly.

As an aside, if you’re concerned about “velocity,” no need to worry. The XVR comes with a diagram for said purposes. When you pick up your XVR, you should expect the gun to weigh about 4 pounds or so, thanks in large part, to its sleek aluminum-made body. Also, your marker should be fairly easy to maintain. Everything you’ll need for cleaning etc comes straight out of the box.
If upgrades or modifications are your strong suit; players have reported, using their XVR in “Dominator Barrel and/or Freedom Fighter Barrel,” modes, to name a few. (Technically the options for mods here are practically endless, because of the design’s simplicity).
In summary, the Tippman Crossover XVR Paintball Marker provides you with excellent splicing of the mechanical and electronic marker styles. (On youtube you can find plenty of tutorials for operating the XVR in different environments, general run-throughs, the works).
With XVR, you have a marker that’s easy to maintain, fires round quicker than most other mechanical devices, and if it suits your style of play, you can definitely upgrade to a full-on electronic arrangement!

Azodin milled the body of the gun and removed excess material in the paintball gun and also fixed the composite when designing the trigger frame. All of these helped achieve the reduced weight in the gun.
When it comes to durability, the paintball gun is designed to absorb the punishment experienced in the field. The marker receives a constant supply of air from the steel hose. The frame also won’t bend even when it is subjected to hard falls. This is because the frame is reinforced with nylon that is durable.

Empire Paintball Mini GS Marker
Last but not the least paintball guns in the list of the Best Paintball Guns Under 300 is the Empire Mini GS.
The Empire Mini GS is awesome and one of my favorite. Empire Paintball Mini GS is my favorite paintball marker in this price range. The Mini GS is built really well, they’re super reliable and very easy to fix.
And like the Proto Rize, it’s low pressure and electronic so it’s going to do the same thing like not kick a lot, quite easy on paint and have all those firing modes that you need.
Where it stands out to me at least say over the Proto Rize is overall build quality. The rise is going to have nylon or composite trigger frame and the mini-GS is just solid aluminum so it just kind of feels better in your hands.
And I do think that build quality also contributes to increased reliability. The mini GS compared to the Rize or other guns in that price range is definitely going to be more reliable but they’re still not going to be as reliable as those Tippmann.
So if you want like ultra reliability where you can just put a gun in a closet and then 5 years later come back and use it then Mini GS is not going to be like that but still, it has good durability compared to other various high-end paintball markers.
If you want for an entry-level-ish tournaments go for the Empire Mini GS.
Some of the features that separate the mini-GS from the Proto Rize is the lever feed neck. So taking that hopper on
and off is super easy. It also comes with that on/off ASA so turning the air off, taking your tank off like the KP3 is super easy.
It has a very good feeling trigger. It is a magnetic trigger so you can like micro-tune or adjust the trigger exactly how you want it.
It comes with that rubber grip over the foregrip. The rubber just kind of makes the guns feel better. It’s been a trend we’ve seen in the last 4 or 5 years. Adding more rubber to guns just makes them feel better or maybe a little bit more premium. If you get sweaty or like paint all over your hands maybe that rubber will help add a little bit of grip and keep those markers secure in your hand.
Conclusion: Best Paintball Guns Under 300
So that is my list of top 10 best paintball guns under $300. If you guys have questions about these guns or maybe I missed something maybe there’s something else that’s sub $300 that you think is better than those 10 guns, please leave a comment below. I’ll reply as soon as possible.
